Southport Flowers Show Success

As you will know from our previous posts Twisted Pages and the Artists from the Waterfront Arts Project have taken part in a large scale installation exhibited at Southport Flower Show last week. The show ran from Thursday 16th of August to Sunday 19th of August and was once again overflowing with thousands of curious visitors!

The Waterfront's installation that was made up of over forty mini bar fridges was spread across three sites dotted around the huge grounds where the show took place. The beauty of this exhibition titled 'COOL!' was that it allowed members of the public visiting the show to engage with the art by actually touching it! Each fridge when opened displayed an individual piece of art work, created by the Waterfront Artists especially for the show.

It was great to see crowds gathering around the fridges and tentatively opening each door, people of all ages could enjoy this interactive piece of art as there was definitely something for everyone.

The response that we got was amazing! With many people paying the Waterfront Arts Project tent a visit to tell the artists just how much they loved the work. With many enquiring about visiting the gallery itself and also informing us that they had already seen some of the fridges on display in the Wayfarers Arcade on Lord Street.

The piece was definitely a success and we can't wait for next year!
