A Journey Through Depression

Yesterday Twisted Pages went over to the Waterfont Gallery in Southport, Merseyside to set up our new installation piece titled 'A Journey Through Depression' for the up coming exhibition 'Imagine If...' that opens on Saturday the 26th of May. The preview is open to the public and anyone is welcome between 2pm and 5pm at the gallery next to the Remada hotel on the Promenade in Southport.

This installation piece is intended to highlight the array of emotions that a person dealing with depression goes through on  a daily basis. From the 'broken' person who may be at their lowest right the way through the long and vulnerable journey to feeling 'whole' again.

We have portrayed both sides of this overwhelming condition and documented just a few of these emotions though shape, form and colour to try and visualise how each would look if it could be seen as well as felt.

Being depressed can often feel as though you are being labelled and there is still a stigma connected to the illness. We have used 'labels' within our piece not to define the person with depression but to try and explain just a little of what they are going through.
